Hanwha defeated KT and won their third exhibition match.

Hanwha won a 5-3 victory over KT in the 2023 KBO League demonstration game held at Daejeon Hanwha Life Insurance Eagles Park on the 16th. Following a 10-4 win the previous day (15th), they marked a record of 3 wins and 1 loss in demonstration games with two consecutive victories.

New foreign hitter Brian O’Grady scored 4 RBIs with a sacrifice fly in the 1st inning and a three-run home run in the 3rd inning. Rookie infielder Moon Hyun-bin also started as a starting center fielder and scored a double in the first at-bat and advanced aggressively to third base despite a wild throw that did not bounce far. Then, in the 5th inning, he caught a difficult ball that went over his head and played an active part in the karate run.

After the game, Hanwha coach Carlos Subero said, “It was O’Grady’s day. The batting in each situation was excellent, such as raising 4 RBIs with a home run and a sacrifice hit. The process of Moon Hyun-bin’s double and excellent run to third base was impressive.” While praising the new faces, he commented, “Jung Eun-won also played an active role in the attack with multi-hits.” Jeong Eun-won, who came out as second baseman as the third hitter, succeeded in getting to third base with two hits and one walk in two at-bats.  토토사이트

Next, coach Subero said, “(Starter) Jang Min-jae was a little shaken in the 4th inning, but I am not too worried as he is a seasoned player. Our pitchers are showing great performances overall. We will focus on raising our pitching power to the highest level for the rest of the period.” He also did not forget to praise the pitchers.

Starter Jang Min-jae blocked it with 6 hits (1 home run), 3 walks, 2 strikeouts, and 3 runs in 3⅔ innings, then Lee Tae-yang (1 1/3 innings, 1 hit, 2 strikeouts, no runs), Kang Jae-min (1 inning, 1 strikeout, no runs), Yoon San-heum (1 inning, 1 hit, 2 strikeouts, no runs) ), Han Seung-hyeok (1 inning, 1 strikeout, no run), and Kim Bum-soo (1 inning, 2 strikeouts, no run) jointly pitched 5⅓ innings without a run in a thin ice situation with 1-2 points. A sense of stability stood out as the five relief pitchers did not give up a single walk in 5⅓ innings.

Hanwha takes a day off on the 17th and faces Kiwoom in Daejeon on the weekend of the 18th and 19th. In the game on the 18th, 158km fireballer Moon Dong-ju is scheduled to start.
