The South Korea U-20 National Team has advanced to the quarterfinals for the second consecutive tournament.

South Korea advanced to the quarterfinals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2023 with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Ecuador in the Round of 16 at the Estadio Unico Madre de Ciudades in Santiago del Estero, Argentina on Sunday (June 2).

Goals from Lee Young-joon and Bae Jun-ho in the first half and Choi Seok-hyun in the second helped South Korea overcome Ecuador. They withstood penalty kicks from Cuero in the first and second halves and a late Gonzalez goal to reach the quarterfinals.

In the 18th minute, Bae Jun-ho, who received a pass from Park Chang-woo, broke down the Ecuadorian defense with a nice individual move. He scored his second goal of the game after fooling Napa. After that, South Korea pressured Ecuador with attacks centered on Kim Yong-hak and Lee Young-joon.
