Reports have emerged that Tottenham will make a cautious move to include Bayern Munich prospect Mathis Thiel in any Harry Kane transfer.
The Guardian reports that “Bayern Munich executives were due to fly to London on Monday. The flights of Bayern Munich CEO Jan Christian Dresden and technical director Marco Neppe have been canceled. They were scheduled to meet with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy next week to discuss the signing of Harry Kane.”
“Bayern Munich officials were reportedly traveling to London for talks with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy on Aug. 28, according to Bild’s Christian Falk. However, the trip was canceled. The flight from Munich to London was canceled for unknown reasons.”
The reason for the sudden change is emerging. Spurs want new terms.
“Tottenham are mulling over a move for Bayern Munich youngster Mathis Thiel as part of a deal for Kane,” the Telegraph reported.
“Levy’s willingness to talk to Bayern Munich is crucial in Germany, where hopes of a Kane move are high,” the Telegraph said, adding that “Tottenham have made enquiries about Tell this summer, according to French sources”.

Mathis Thiel is a promising resource. Since joining Bayern Munich last year, the 18-year-old has shown his potential by making 28 appearances, including cup competitions, and scoring six goals. He also proved his worth as a striker with a goal in the last friendly against Man City.
Kane is currently considered one of the best strikers in the world. He has proven his goal-scoring prowess with Tottenham, scoring 280 goals in 435 career games.
Last season was no different. Even in the midst of Tottenham’s abysmal run of form, he still managed to stay sharp on his toes, scoring 32 goals in 49 games across all competitions.
Kane is a ‘sure-fire goal scorer’, and his 30 league goals last season took his Premier League tally to 213, moving him past Wayne Rooney (208) into second place on the all-time Premier League goalscoring list.
With Bayern Munich in need of goals, they’ve been knocking on Tottenham’s door to sign Kane as they look to land a top-flight striker.
Bayern Munich reportedly offered Tottenham €70 million ($100.3 million) and £80 million ($132 million) for Kane. The result: rejection. Tottenham want at least £100 million ($165.7 billion) unconditionally.
Tottenham are keen to re-sign him, but Sky Sports reports that “Kane is continuing to hold talks with Bayern Munich. He is unlikely to sign a new contract with Tottenham.”
While Kane’s stay or departure has not been finalized, his wife is already looking for a house in Munich.
“Kane has one year left on his Tottenham contract and is understood to be interested in joining Bayern Munich. The Bavarians are preparing a third offer after two rejections. Tottenham value Kane at £100 million and Bayern Munich are hoping to strike a deal. Postecoglou said: “I hope that Kane’s future will be decided one way or another.
Kane is out of contract with Tottenham next June. The ‘Tottenham franchise star’ has already indirectly indicated that he has no intention of signing an extension with the club. He is currently on Tottenham’s preseason tour and playing in practice, but his future is unknown. Whether he stays or goes, new manager Enzi Postecoglou wants the ‘transfer saga’ to end sooner rather than later.

The Guardian says: “Bayern Munich are prepared to go as high as €100m (£140.8m), which is close to what Levy wants. They are expected to make a third offer of a similar level when they meet at the table next week.”
So if Levy and Tottenham include Tell, things could be different.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich have already made a series of offers for Kane. Bayern Munich’s honorary chairman Uli Hoeneß gave an interview in which he expressed his desire to sign Kane.
He told Sport1: “Kane has signaled in every conversation that his decision is valid. If he keeps his word, we will get him. Because then Tottenham will be shaken. We will get Kane. Then Tottenham will have to let him go,” he said, publicly signaling his interest in Kane.
