KIA coach Kim Jong-guk expressed his satisfaction with the first victory in the demonstration game.
KIA won 8-3 in the second leg of the exhibition match against the Hanwha Eagles of the 2023 KBO League held at Hanwha Life Insurance Eagles Park in Daejeon on the 14th. The first victory in the demonstration match was made into a come-from-behind victory.
KIA starter Adonis Medina recorded 4 hits (1 home run), 2 strikeouts and 3 runs in 3 innings. His highest speed was 152 km. He had 62 pitches. He evenly distributed his fastball (3), two-seam (35), cutter (13), slider (8) and changeup (3).
After Medina, Yoon Joong-hyun, Lee Jun-young, Jeon Sang-hyun, Kim Dae-yu (1 walk), Kim Yu-shin (1 walk), and Jung Hae-young came up and defended the victory by neatly blocking one inning each. 스포츠토토
In the other line, 12 hits broke out. Choi Hyung-woo and Kim Ho-ryeong showed off a good sense of hitting with multi-hits side by side. Choi Hyung-woo hit two doubles. Ryu Ji-hyeok and Kim Do-young scored one RBI.
After the game, coach Kim Jong-guk said, “In the second half of the game, the hitters showed their concentration and were able to turn around. Overall, the hitters showed an even performance. The pitchers who came up after Medina did their part and were able to finish the game without additional runs. I ordered it to be reduced, but that part seems to have worked out well.”
As coach Kim Jong-guk said, the KIA pitchers on this day only gave up two walks.
“It was the first official game in Korea, and the result is not important. It is a process of getting to know domestic hitters, and I hope that he will adapt well during the demonstration game and perform well in the regular season,” he cheered.
